Who We Are

Illinois' Longest Running All Star Cheer Program

History

Our program began in the year 2000 as the Victory Academy Lions based out of Victory Academy in Bloomington. We started with just two All Star cheer teams and were one of only a small number of programs in the entire state at the time. In year two, we gained a fantastic new Program Director in Jen Nettleton (Wait). As time went on and the sport gained popularity, we added tons of new athletes and more and more teams each year. We spent 13 great seasons at Victory Academy. Then, in the Spring of 2013, we were fortunate to be able to move our program to a brand new space built for us at Gymnastics Etc. in Bloomington. From the ground up, a newly constructed space was built and the Lions Cheer Company name was born. Our first season as LCC, 2013-2014, was the largest in our history. In December 2017, after being with the program for 16 1/2 years, Jen Nettleton retired from the sport and her younger sister, Amanda Wait, was elevated to the role of Program Director and continues to this day. Amanda has been involved with the program since being an athlete on one of our first ever teams in 2000. We are happy that we have been able serve the Central Illinois community with All Star cheer team and class programs for over 20 years and are proud to be the longest running All Star program in the entire state of Illinois!
